i had to alt+tab out and back in to see anything but a black screen every time i started the game, but that's a small price to pay to play a game i've been trying to get to work for over 10 years.
i was unable to find a way to get out of 640x480 resolution or mute sound, but the game is still perfectly playable in this way on windows 10.
